More than $4,000 has been donated so far to the Ward Faulkenberry Memorial Christmas Basket Fund, which provides food vouchers to families who need support.

The drive, which began Nov. 19, is sponsored by the local American Red Cross.

Recipients receive $25 vouchers to use at local grocery stores.

Christian Services, the Department of Social Services and the Lancaster County Council on Aging are identifying the families in need.

Through Thursday, the grand total was $4,615.

To give to the basket fund, drop off donations or send them to the chapter's office, 114 Williams St., Suite 212, Lancaster, SC 29720. Donations will be taken until Christmas.
