A two-hole card playoff decided the winner in the annual Rotary Club golf tournament at the Lancaster Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Three teams were tied at 59 at the end of play to force the card playoff.

The foursome of Morgan Frost, Johnny Roscoe, Jay Rainey and J.B. Brumfield posted a birdie on No. 7 to take the win in the 22-team field.

Roscoe aided his team’s play with the close-up on No. 13.

The team of Scott Caskey, Stephen Burgress, Mike Burgess and Steve Plyler placed second.

The third-place team included Richard Harris, Charles Walters, Ed Sizemore and Kirk Carver

In addition to Roscoe, the close-up winners included Steve Sherrill (No. 7), Dr. Gene Moore (No. 15) and Charles Harrell (No. 4).

The A and B long drive winner was Jeff Brown on No. 12. The C and D player long drive winner on No. 18 was Jeff Seege.

“We had another outstanding tournament,” said Evan Scott, who coordinates the tournament for the Lancaster Breakfast Rotary Club and the Lancaster Noon Rotary Club. “We had a real good field and our goal is to keep the teams even. The play reflected that.”

Founders Federal Credit Union is the tournament sponsor.

“We had our largest field and 90 percent of the funds raised will go to local charities,” Scott said. “We were real pleased and we appreciate the support of this tournament.”
