One month before the March 16 open filing date for partisan local elections, at least four candidates already have announced intentions to seek public office – three for Sixth Circuit Solicitor and one for Lancaster County Council.
On Feb. 8 via press release, Winnsboro attorney William Frick announced his candidacy for the seat of retiring Sixth Circuit Solicitor Doug Barfield. The Sixth Judicial Circuit includes Chester, Fairfield and Lancaster counties.
Barfield confirmed with The Lancaster News on Thursday, Feb. 20, he will not seek re-election.
