The Lancaster High School boys won in a head-to-head meet with Rock Hill, prevailing 65.5-63.5.The Bruins also won in a four-way meet with Chesterfield, Central of Pageland and Great Falls. LHS swept the meet with 115.5 points. Chesterfield followed with 68 points, Central had 35 and Great Falls posted 16.Josh Page, who scored 22 points, captured wins in the triple jump and long jump. Deangelo Criss won the 400 intermediate hurdles, Nehemiah Stewart captured the 800 meters, Wylie Penegar took the 3200-meter run and Shaun Boling won the shot put.The Bruins 4 x 800 meter team also took a first. The team included Stewart, Terry Thompson, Wylie Penegar and Thomas White.“We had a great showing tonight from our athletes,” said LHS coach Corey McIlwain.The Bruins improved to 5-1 overall, 2-1 in region meets.LHS fell to Northwestern, 73-41 in a home meet last week.Eric Patterson took the discus, Boling won the shot put and Page won the 200-meter dash. The boys 4 x 800 relay team also registered a first.The Lancaster High girls lost in their head-to-head meet with Rock Hill, falling 95-40.The Lady Bruins did prevail in a four-way meet, posting 106.5 points to Chesterfield’s 78.5 points, Central of Pageland’s 30 points and Great Falls’ 9.Shaniqua Waters, who tallied 20 points, won the discus and shot put to lead the LHS girls. Elizabeth Catoe won the 1600-meter race and Callen Bethea was a winner in the 3200-meter run. Keiosha Robinson posted a first in the high jump.The LHS girls’ 4 x 100-meter relay team took first. The team included Tangelia Frazier, Brittany Steward, Keiosha Robinson and Porsha Cloud.The Lancaster girls are 5-2.In a meet last week, the Lancaster girls defeated York 61.5-46.5.Shaniqua Waters captured the shot put and discus. Caitlin Sitte won the 1600-meter run and Miteka Trueheart won the 200-meter dash. Keiosha Robinson won the 100-meter dash and high jump.
