The Lancaster Bruins, in action for the first time in over a week, showed they were in sync with an impressive 67-62 win over No. 1 Gaffney Indians on Saturday night.
The Region III-AAAA opener, slated for Friday night, was played Saturday afternoon, LHS's first game in over a week with county schools closed due to the winter storm.
The Bruins, in a seesaw battle with the defending Class AAAA state champions, took control midway the fourth period with a crucial 12-1 run to take a 62-54 lead with 2:40 to play.
