Bruins fall to York in baseball

The Lancaster Bruins dipped to 3-3 overall after dropping a 7-5 road baseball loss to York on Saturday.

The Bruins loaded the bases in the seventh inning, but were unable to get the key hit.

Josh Warfield, who worked five frames, took the loss. He fanned eight and allowed nine hits and two walks. Kendall Adams worked a scoreless frame in relief.

Joseph Threatt and Warfield each had three hits. Threatt drove in two runs. Dalton Johnson had two hits and a RBI. Bryan Gainer and Trey Cauthen each had two hits.

Lancaster hosts York today at 6 p.m.

The Bruins’ home game with Blythewood, which was rained out March 13, has been reset for March 30.

LHS golfers win

The Lancaster High School golf team evened its mark at 3-3 with a 21-shot win over Fort Mill, 160-181 last Thursday.

Patrick Marshall and Wil Riggins led the Bruins, with each shooting a 38. John Heath followed with a 41 and Haley Heath had a 43.

Earlier in the week, Lancaster fell to Clover, 168-161.

Patrick Marshall paced the Bruins with a 40. John Heath carded a 41 and Russ Faile had a 42 to lead LHS.

Lady Bruins lose

Lancaster dropped a 2-0 region road softball loss to Spring Valley on Monday night in Pontiac.

Courtney Cauthen took the loss, allowing four hits and a walk. She struck out three.

Sarah Amason led the offense with a double. Candice Benson, Angel Cox, Crystal Cauthen, Shay McIlwain and Erin Walker each had a hit for Lancaster High School.

The Lady Bruins host Blythewood High School on Thursday.
