A Rock Hill couple survived a car crash into Bear Creek on Wednesday afternoon.
At about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, William and Mary Hines were heading north on U.S. 521 when they lost control of their car at the bridge before the 903 interchange. The car cut across oncoming lanes of traffic before plummeting down an embankment into Bear Creek.
The couple survived after their 16-year-old grandson and several passersby jumped into the water to save them. They were taken to Springs Memorial Hospital.
