FORT LAWN – A 10-year-old boy from Fort Lawn darted out in front of a car on S.C. 9 on Monday night and was injured.
The boy was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he was treated for a fractured leg, according to Fort Lawn Police Chief Richard Smith.
The accident happened around 6:15 p.m., Smith said.
"It was pitch black," he said.
The boy had been out with friends, crossing S.C. 9 in front of his house. He was headed back home at the time of the accident and just "darted out" suddenly.
