Late model driver Andy Blackwood notched a solid win at Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday night to highlight an action-packed night.As soon as the late model green flag flew, Blackwood did not let anything get in his way.He took the lead and as soon as he did, his crew and family were on their feet in support of Blackwood.Blackwood knew Mike Huey was second, and every lap Huey tried to get Blackwood, but Blackwood was determined and took the checkers.Blackwood was followed by Ron Parker, Huey, Daniel Tucker and Chris Hargett.u In the young guns main event, it was Cayce McGuire taking off at the green flag and behind him was Andrew Blackwood in second and Austin Baker third. A brief yellow flag was brought out when Blackwood spun in turn four, but drove away to end up in third.As the race resumed, it was McGuire leading, but another caution came out. Baker and Blackwood raced for second and made contact with each other. This caused Blackwood to make contact with the wall to end his night early.As the race restarted, it was all Cayce McGuire taking the win and behind him was Austin Baker, David Whitaker, Blackwood and Brandon Blackmon.u The super street main featured a good battle from Brandy Baker and Frankie McGuire.Baker and McGuire shared the front row, and as soon as the green flag flew, McGuire took off for the lead with the “Gambler,” Baker, on his bumper.For several laps, it was bumper-to-bumper and side-by-side action. Neither driver wanted to yield.The fans were on their feet screaming for their driver, half for Baker and half for McGuire. Baker finally made the pass for the lead, with McGuire second.All of sudden, a major crash happened going into turn three. Don Burns and No. 77 made contact and they collected Gary Whitford. Whitford road the wall, then flipped and stayed upside down until the safety crews arrived and everybody was OK.As the race got back under way, it was Baker taking the checkers followed by McGuire, Jeff Langley, Kevin Blackwell and Daniel Whiteside.u In the super stock four main event, it was Jeffery McGuirt leading early with Patrick Norwood second. Back in the field, it was Wes Helms flying through the field and now taking a shot a Norwood for second.He passed Norwood and now he had his eyes set on the prize, first place. McGuirt had Helms in his mirror, but on the last lap Helms tried to make his move on McGuirt. They were side by side and Helms made contact with McGuirt, causing Helms to spin around and fall back in the field. McGuirt took the win. He was followed by Norwood, Ray Adams, Blake Rollings and Evan Thomas.u In the pure street main event, it was Kevin Blackwell leading early, with Jerry Sexton second. Frankie McGuire made his way through the field and didn’t let anybody get in his way.After several cautions, it was a green, white, checker, with Blackwell leading, Sexton second and McGuire third.McGuire passed Sexton for second and on the last lap, McGuire, in an exciting finish, passed Blackwell to take the win.He was followed by Blackwell, Sexton, Michael Outlaw and Mark Kiser at the finish line.u In the fastrack crate main event it was Benji Knight jumping to the lead, with Mike Huey in second.Knight led lap after lap and held back Huey to the checkers. Andy Hodges was third and he was followed by Marty Stancill and Blackwood.u The final race of the night was in the sportsman crate main event, with Shaun Medlin jumping to lead and Chris Bell in second.Kenny Ramsey was third and it was bumper to bumper with all three cars battling for the victory.Medlin held back everybody to take the win. He was followed at the stripe by Bell, Ramsey, Brian Greene and Ben Helms.
