Belk's hoping Niners strike Super gold

It has been nearly 40 years since Bill Belk played for the San Francisco 49ers, but he will have his game day focus on his old team late this afternoon in New Orleans.

“Once a 49er, always a 49er,” said Belk, a Lancaster native who now resides in Columbia.

Belk, 66, last played in 1974, capping a six-year NFL career with San Francisco.

As expected, Belk, who played defensive end, is calling for a Niners’ win over the  Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII tonight.
