Speaking at the special County Council meeting on July 30, Council Chairwoman Kathy Sistare declared that critically needed B-3 zoning reform is now “off the table.” After three years of talking and thousands of hours of work, including a refusal to hear a viable proposal approved by the Planning Commission, Sistare has responded by firing the planning director, greatly reducing the authority of the Planning Commission, and now declaring that council will not consider the matter further.
