AJ Volunteers' Flowers, Catoe advance to state strength meet

Andrew Jackson High School athletes Trent Flowers and Julius Catoe advanced to the state strength meet after placing in the region strength competition at Lugoff-Elgin High School on Wednesday night.Flowers won his weight class in the 180-pound class. Catoe placed third in the unlimited weight class.Flowers and Catoe will compete in the state strength meet at Lexington High School on April 12.Competitors participated in the bench press, squat, 40-yard dash and vertical jump.“The athletes showed an overall balance in their athletic ability and should be complimented.
