Andrew Jackson Middle School and South Middle School each posted shutout wins to set up a football showdown at AJ on Thursday.AJMS, which defeated South last season, improved to 3-0 with a 16-0 win over Camden Middle School on Wednesday.South Middle School, on a road trip to Winnsboro, rolled to a 28-0 win over Fairfield Central Middle School at Fairfield Central High on Wednesday.In the AJ Middle win, the 3-0 Vols forged an 8-0 halftime lead and added a second-half score to seal the win.Javaris Clyburn dashed 10 yards and added the two-point conversion run to boost AJ Middle to the only score it would need.In the second half, Gavin Clyburn scored on a 20-yard pass from Tripp Rollings. Javaris Clyburn scored on the conversion.AJMS faces South at home in a 5:30 p.m. kickoff on Thursday.South upped its football mark to 3-0 with its third straight shutout.Jimmy Hill dashed nine yards to give South a 6-0 spread in the first quarter at Fairfield Central. Later in the opening period, Kaderrious Jackson sprinted 70 yards on a punt return to put South on top 12-0.In the second period, Jackson connected with Rashawn Cloud on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Hill ran in on the conversion to give the Mustangs a 20-0 edge at the break.South wrapped up the scoring in the third period as J.J. Massey tallied on a 20-yard run for the winners. Tywon Anthony tacked on the two-point conversion.Buford Middle winsThe Buford Middle School football team improved its mark to 3-0 with an 8-0 win over Lewisville on Thursday.Buford Middle quarterback Trip Wright scored all the points. Wright tallied on a short plunge and added the conversion run.The scoring drive was highlighted by the running of BMS workhorse running back Mikeem McKinney.Buford Middle School coach Greg Caskey saluted the play of Brady Christian and Austin Kos, who blocked well to boost the Jackets’ offense.Tyler Stiwinter and Garrett Thomas each had a fumble recovery for the Jackets. Caskey noted Zack Miller and Austin Harrison led the defense in notching the shutout.Buford hosts Great Falls on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.LHS B-team winsThe Lancaster High School B-team football squad remained unbeaten on the season with a 26-8 win over Northwestern on Thursday.Que Degraffenreid scored two touchdowns and added a conversion run for the Bruins. Tyree Drakeford and Brandon Reese each added a touchdown for the winners.Shaquille Robinson picked off a pass, Montae Peay notched two sacks and Stevie Sturdivant had eight tackles.Lancaster B-team coach Chris Miller also praised the play of Andre Foulks in the win.
