Despite the cold temperatures on Saturday night, a large crowd gathered in downtown Lancaster to see the annual Lancaster Christmas parade.
The lineup included professional floats, beauty queens, high school marching bands, walking groups and a variety of homemade floats.
Prizes were awarded in four categories. The judges were Greg Summers, Johannes Tromp and Scott Sistare.
The winning entries were:
– Best Use Of Lighting – Lancaster County Department of Social Services Foster Parent Association
– Best Float – Cub Scout Pack 71
– Most Entertaining Walking Group – Tumble ‘n Roll
– Best Overall Entry – American Air Heating and Cooling Inc.
Honorable mentions were awarded to Buford Middle School cheerleaders and Alpha Road Church of God of Prophecy.
The winners will receive a plaque with their names engraved that they can keep for a year, a certificate to keep and $50. Prizes will be awarded in the new year.
Organizers plan to give prizes in the same categories again at next year’s parade to encourage entrants to be creative with their entries.
