Two Lancaster men were injured in separate shootings over the weekend.

Jonathan Davis Rivera, 17, of 2099 Pinta Drive, has been charged by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office with assault and battery with intent to kill.

According to a sheriff’s office incident report, an 18-year-old man was shot at Time Outs pool room on Memorial Park Road about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Deputies were called to the business and found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to his left hip.

The victim’s girlfriend said she had recently broken up with Rivera and he was angry about it, the report said. She told deputies that Rivera came into the pool room and started an argument with the victim. The victim and Rivera went outside to fight, the report said.

The girlfriend told deputies she heard a “pop” and saw the victim walking toward her, saying he had been shot. She told deputies she saw Rivera running toward the Crossroads convenience store.

The victim was flown to Carolinas Medical Center. He was discharged from the hospital Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Sheriff Barry Faile said deputies surrounded a house on Sunset Circle on Saturday and arrested Rivera there.

City shooting

Another shooting was reported in the Lancaster city limits on Sunday.

According to a Lancaster Police Department incident report, police were called to the Springs Memorial Hospital emergency room because someone with a gunshot wound was there.

The 23-year-old victim told police that he was walking on Pardue Street and heard three gunshots, the report said.

The man told police he started running and realized that he had been hit in the right leg just above his knee, according to the report.
