The 1991 state champion Lancaster High School baseball team will be saluted Friday night prior to the Bruins’ Region III-AAAA home game with Rock Hill High School at 7 p.m.
The LHS team defeated Lexington for the Class AAAA baseball title. During the season, the LHS team was ranked No. 1 in the nation in the USA Today’s Super 25 high school baseball poll.
The team was led by high school All-Americans Pep Harris and John Barnes.

LHS 1991 players Barnes (Padres) along with Harris (Indians) were drafted in the Major League draft as were Steve Cunningham (Pirates), O’Brien Cunningham (Pirates), Tony Cloud (Reds) and Gege Harris (Pirates).
“The weather forecast is good for Friday and I hope we have a real good turnout to honor this team on Friday,” Caroway said.
