A ‘second father,’ first-class man

There are men in your life you regard as “second fathers.”
They don’t replace your father, but are special people with father-like attributes.
One I hold dear from my youth, is the late James P. “Dick” Richards, better known as Congressman Richards to many.
I came to know him through his grandson, Jim Richards, a childhood friend from our days growing up on Sherwood Circle.
He was quite a man, but I only knew the half of it.
