A woman wanted for several fraudulent check charges was arrested last week, hours after her photo was released as one of the county’s “Most Wanted.”
Deputies arrested Louise Baker Eubanks, 34, 2059 Riverside Road, on April 26 for breach of trust $2,000 or less and nine counts of fraudulent check $500 or less, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
The arrest came mere hours after Eubanks was profiled, along with nine other people, in the sheriff’s office’s monthly “Most Wanted” list.
A deputy found Eubanks at her home, advised her of the multiple warrants issued against her and then arrested her, the report said. She was then jailed at the Lancaster County Detention Center.
Sheriff Barry Faile said his office received a tip alerting deputies of her location.
“We got some information that was where she was, we went over there and we got her,” Faile said.
He said the public has been instrumental in helping track down the county’s “most wanted.”
“It’s a good thing. Once the information (is released), we start getting calls from the public about these people,” he said. “It works and we appreciate it.”
The nine fraudulent check warrants were originally issued April 11, 2011, and all carry fines of $150 or 30 days in jail. Each warrant also included different amounts of required restitution, which totaled $2,649.44, the report said.
The breach of trust warrant was issued May 5, 2011 and carries a fine of $175 or 30 days in jail, plus $182.97 in restitution, the report said.
Eubanks remained jailed Wednesday, May 1, on a $7,500 surety bond, per detention center records.
According to the S.C. Judicial Department website, Eubanks’ first court date is June 14.
