Area Golf Notes

By The Staff

Due to the forecast for heavy rain in the area, the annual “Fore the Kids” golf tournament, slated for Thursday, June 6 at Edgewater Golf Club, has been moved to Thursday, June 13.

The same format will be followed, with the range opening at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon by Chick-fil-A.

The shotgun start is at 1 p.m.

The 5:30 p.m. barbecue supper is provided by Founders Federal Credit Union.

“This was a difficult decision, but with a 90 percent chance of having weather bad enough to close the course and subject folks to injury, we decided to postpone our event,” said tournament director Skip Stutts.

The fundraising tournament, a captain’s choice event, benefits the local chapter of the Child Evangelism Fellowship.

For more information, call the Edgewater Golf Club at (803) 283-9800, or Skip Stutts (803) 283-4274.
