Blackmon-Brace to seek re-election to City Council
Add Linda Blackmon-Brace to the list of candidates who have filed to run for either Lancaster City Council or Lancaster County school board.
Blackmon-Brace, who serves City Council District 3, filed Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 8, said Mary Ann Hudson, the county’s voter registration director.
Blackmon-Brace joins Tamara Green Garris (District 4) and Sara Eddins (District 6) as the three City Council incumbents to file.
Jean Cureton has also filed for District 4.

Filing wraps up for June primaries
A woman familiar with congressional politics will challenge U.S. House Rep. Mick Mulvaney for the District 5 seat – one of several races office seekers filed for over the past few weeks.
Joyce Knott, a Rock Hill businesswoman who once worked on the campaign staff for former U.S. Rep. John Spratt, has filed to run as a Democrat for that same seat in the June primary.
That will presumably pit her against Mulvaney, the incumbent Republican, in November’s general election.
