The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers have earned a bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association Eastern District baseball tournament.
The Lancers, with a runner-up finish in the Region X tournament in Burlington, N.C., on Wednesday, May 10, reaped the coveted bid.

The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers stayed alive in the Region X baseball tournament, taking a 7-1 win over the USC Sumter Fire Ants on Tuesday, May 7 in Burlington, N.C.
Wade Arduini was the winning hurler, working 8.1 innings, allowing seven hits and three walks. He fanned five and allowed a run.
Logan Segee worked two-thirds of an inning in scoreless relief.

The University of South Carolina Lady Lancers saw their softball season end with a pair of losses in the Region X tournament at USC Aiken.
USC Salkehatchie defeated USCL 7-5 on Saturday, April 27.
Callie Wayne, who worked five innings, took the loss, allowing three hits, six runs, four earned runs and seven walks. She fanned six. Kayla Lloyd worked two innings and gave up two hits, one run, one earned run and a walk. She struck out one.

FLORENCE – Tristan Faile, a senior third baseman on the Francis Marion University women’s softball team, has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District III Team for NCAA Division II.
This is the second consecutive year the Lancaster, S.C., native has earned this honor.
Faile has compiled a 3.86 grade point average as a biology major. A first-team selection, she now becomes eligible to earn Academic All-American honors, with voting to be done in the near future.

The USC Lancaster Lancers dropped a 1-0 baseball loss to Pitt Community College on Sunday, April 19 in the nightcap of a Region X twin bill in Winterville, N.C.
